Final Thoughts

So this about wraps it up. Its actually two weeks to the day that I've been home and I must say the adaption process has not been that hard. It took me forever to realize I was in Spain, but when I got home, I was only a little hyper from being back. I do miss Spain, but I guess I just have so much on my plate for this summer that I haven't really had time to miss it yet! I do want to go back though. Especially Andalucia. I think I left a little part of my heart there...

The last week in Spain flew by. We made a group stop to the Science park, and on the VERY last day (Sunday) I finally made my visit to the Alhambra. hahahahahahah 4 months, and I finally made it on the last day. To be honest, it wasn't something that I enjoyed doing by myself. Without someone to talk to, they are just walls and gardens... even if they are almost 1000 years old. It was very pretty though. The gardens were beatuful, and the archtecture was breathtaking. And the amount of detail! We had studied the alhambra in my islamic culture class, but damn. Way more impressive in real life. I just wish I hadn't been sick for the group tour :( Oh well.

It took me all day Saturday to pack... because I knew I would be doing it on sunday. Especially since I planned on having a few drinks that night. Although Sunday night I still had things to organize and I was up until about 2. I think I just didn't want to say goodbye to my senora, and all of the wonderful meals she made.

Its a strange thing tho, living in Spain with people you don't know brings a lot of social frustrations. And it makes having a good time difficult unless you're fortunate enough to meet trustworthy and reliable people there. That never really happened for me while I was there, so I spent most of my time doing either not doing much, or just studying. It was probably better that way, because my spanish improved by leaps and bounds.

I didn't hang out with the group much over the last few days, except for our final group going away tapa/dinner. Where I ate nasty food. haha, most of it was good, but damn, Muria is a nono. Everyone was just crying a lot anyways, and I didn't really care to be around it I guess.

We met up our final time at centro Neptuno Comercial- the sorry excuse for a Mall with a discoteca attached to it, and we hopped on the bus to the airport.

The flight back was of course 8 hours long, and we watched a couple movies and ate a couple meals. When we landed all the families were there and Patrick and Karl were there to pick me up. It was a long drive back because I was jet lagged to hell and I was a little tired haha. We left Madrid at 5pm, and got in at 7pm...after an 8 hour flight. So at 10:30 when we pulled into the apt., it felt like 4:30am. Jet lag is crazy.. I was waking up at 7am and getting Pass out tired at 10pm for like a week >.<

The saturday after I got back though, I got to see ALYSSA! Finally! After 4 months of missing eachother and skyping. We got to see each other for 4 hours in the Logan Int'l airport :).

And thats that. I'm now in Cape cod writing this entry. I hope you have all enjoyed reading about my adventures, and I'll post my entries on Scotland later at the end of the summer! :)

Until then, Hasta Luego
